Designing Learning Environments that Support All Learners
This CEU provides an in-depth exploration of Personalized Student Learning and how thoughtfully designed learning environments can support the diverse needs of all learners. Participants will define personalized learning and compare it to traditional classroom models that rely on uniform layouts and instruction.
The session examines how the COVID pandemic accelerated the adoption of personalized learning technologies, such as learning management systems, adaptive software, collaboration tools, and assistive technologies, and how these tools support flexibility, access, and student choice. Attendees will also explore how the physical learning environment, including furniture, technology integration, and spatial planning enhances personalized learning.
The session concludes with a review of a personalized learning planning roadmap that participants can use as a checklist when designing new learning environments and classroom projects, helping ensure spaces are intentional, inclusive, and aligned with instructional goals.
