The new Fargo Sports Center at the Sanford Sports Complex celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday, May 29th, marking the completion of its first phase, which encompasses approximately 290,000 square feet. Upon completion of the second phase by January 2025, the facility will expand to nearly 400,000 square feet.
Located at 6100 38th St. S. in Fargo, the $126.6 million complex spans 123 acres in South Fargo, addressing the region’s growing need for indoor recreational facilities. Fargo Park Board President Dr. Joe Deutsch highlighted the project’s significant milestone, achieved after six years of securing the right mix of public and private funding.
The comprehensive facility offers a wide range of amenities, including:
- A full-size NCAA indoor soccer turf
- An elevated walking track
- Eight hardwood courts
- Two ice sheets
- Six pickleball courts
- Six small multi-purpose rooms on the mezzanine level
- Three large community rooms on the main level
- One tournament room in the iceplex area
- An indoor playground
With its diverse features, the Fargo Sports Center is poised to become a central hub for indoor sports, tournaments, special events, and community activities, significantly enhancing Fargo’s recreational landscape. Products from OFS, Steelcase, AIS, AMQ, 9 to 5, KI, Tennsco, and Workrite were all included.
